Concept Art: Party Members (Genis)

Introducing Genis Cantabel, a...
um...

Hm.

Genis, when he was young, was practicing swordplay in his house, when he accidentally hit something on display. This item, for whatever reason, turned out to be a bomb. Perhaps it was placed by his sister...?
Genis blew himself up, but survived, but at a cost: His eyes are rather different, his left leg is now replaced by a metal one, and his means of survival rely on an Energy Apparatus, which at the time, was a prototype. This causes his movements to be more robotic, and his Energy Management is rather strange. Genis, in the past, was great friends with Lloyd, and, as he's from Palovus, is rather intelligent, and prefers to keep peace between everyone. Genis was supposed to be the final party member, completing the trio of Mage, Warrior, Ranger, taking the role of the Ranger. His Energy Arrows allow him to apply different debuffs on his opponents by using the different Aspects, and though his ammo isn't limited, his Energy really is.

Genis has found ways to modify the Apparatus, but at the beginning of the game, that thing's staying on his chest, out in the open.

Concept Art: Party Members (Lloyd)

Ah, yes. Lloyd Adamantium.

A Machine hailing from the secretive region of Zynchronus, Lloyd is your standard tank. He's got high Health, high Stamina, and low Energy, though his Energy Consumption is rather low. He's... been through a lot, causing him to have a personality of uncaring. He believes it's his job to guard everyone, and make sure they stay safe. With his massive sword, a hatred for enemies, and a dark past, Lloyd stands short but strong, ready to destroy anything that stands in his way.

(These drawings may have other party members, but focus mainly on Lloyd.)

He's going through a redesign, but here's his most recent iteration.

Lloyd's gone through his share of redesigns, but the one thing staying the same has been the way his eyes work. As a Machine, Lloyd is as close to a human as possible, with one main outside difference: His eyes. They're a sort of light display, explaining why his pupils are white in these drawings. His eyes are actually supposed to be red, with black elsewhere, representing the lights that are "off".

Concept Art: Party Members (Isaac)

Ah, Isaac. An underdeveloped "re-design hell" of sorts.
Isaac Vicorus is a character with an idea, but no story. He sleeps a lot of the time, and when he's not asleep, he's trying his best to help others with his magic. Originally from Quetzalquartz, Isaac's specialties in the Lightning Aspect allow him to have a rather large Energy Pool to draw from. However, his past is still unknown to the rest of the party...
Isaac's stats are heavily based in Magic. His Energy is high, but his Health and Stamina are rather low, forcing the player to use a lot of Magical Abilities if they wish to use him. However, if you can get passed his weaknesses, he's got great potential.

As I said, Isaac's rather underdeveloped in terms of drawings and story. He'll get there, though.

Concept Art: Party Members (Joshua)

Next up is our Placeholder character, who's actually modeled after how I draw myself. For the sake of not confusing everyone, we'll just call him "Joshua" for the time being. These drawings are of myself, whether it's a scene in-game or in "reality" (like the time I stayed up much longer than I was supposed to. Pulled an all-nighter on a school night.)

Joshua's a neat character. He's the one to start the adventure, with the goal of collecting the eight Elemental Aspects of Magic, which are scattered throughout the world. Originally from Wesnoth, this character is extremely customizable, allowing the player to use whatever weapon they'd like, though his specialties lie in swords. His magical abilities are strange, and he's got a great affinity for music. This allows him to use different bits of music to help his magical abilities grow in strength. He's able to use every Aspect, and has the most average stats out of the 5. And as the leader of the party, he's the one guiding everyone through tough situations.

Here's the most recent drawing of him. This is the newest design, and I honestly love this. I'll be redesigning him ever so slightly in the future, regarding his hair.

Originally, he was drawing inspiration from Link, from the Legend of Zelda series of games, and over time, I've changed him to sort of abandon that design in favor of a more creative design.

Concept Art: Party Members (All)

Welcome, everyone, to the concept art area of a game I'm making! These are the party members. Originally there were only four, but later on I added another. I might explain bits and pieces of this game as I go on, but for now, we have the five characters you'll be seeing the most: (Main Character with a placeholder name), Isaac, Lloyd, Genis, and Rachel. The drawings of this post, and the next few, will be focused on them, and were drawn anywhere between the beginning of my Junior year to today.

Starting with, well, everyone! I have multiple drawings involving most, or all, of the party members. Before I start focusing more on the others, why not start with them all?

Some of these might be unfinished, in terms of details. The outlines and everything are complete, though.

Welp. I guess multiple was actually like 2.

Onwards, to the next post!

Older Drawings, Part 2 (Sophomore-Junior, Part 1)

More old drawings! These aren't nearly as ancient, nor are they as bad. You can also see the drawings actually improve in quality as well, going from olive-heads to actual head shapes, and a transition out of graph paper!

A left-handed drawing! Neat!

And I'm purposely skipping some drawings because they lack context. Junior year was when I began actually working on storyline, artwork, and characters for the game I'll make eventually, so I won't post those until I have the context for them.

Until next time!

Older Drawings, Part 1 (Freshman)

Finally getting around to updating this thing. Our first post includes a lot of drawings (like 45) that I did quite a while back. Most of these were on graph paper, were really bad, and don't have much, if anything, to do with a game I'll be making in the future. Honestly, the reason I'm uploading these is because it's kind of cool seeing how people improve over time. And seriously, I've improved a lot. No more olive-heads or strange noodle-arms!

Looking back, some of these were done as early as 8th grade! Freshman year probably had the most of those, though. They all were centered around Homestuck or a girlfriend I had at the time.
Wow.
That was a LONG time ago...
So, starting with the drawings of old, and going to right before last year...
Be aware that there are a lot here. That's what this first post is about: getting all of the really old drawings posted and out of the way so I can make more detailed (???) posts about newer drawings.

Wow that's a lot of drawings.
But you know what they say, you can't get better at something if you don't do it a bunch! That... kind of explains the severe lack of variety in these early pictures...

...and I wasn't very creative with ideas, either.

Next I have whatever drawings I have pictures of from last year! And I'll likely have another post with it going over even more pictures from last year, since I have a huge folder of them.
Don't worry, I'll only do drawings that seem important, like I did for this post.

Until whenever I post this next!
